Investment Associate – Distressed Credit And Special Situations

One of the top distressed credit and special situation hedge funds based in New York is looking to hire an Investment Associate. The firm focuses on long-short investments across a range of industries. They have an enviable track record and an extremely talented senior leadership team.

The distressed credit and special situations team continues to experience strong growth and success and is looking to expand their team at the Associate level.

Job Responsibilities

• Preparation of other ad hoc support materials/presentations to the business
• The position will involve screening and evaluation of public and private distressed and special situations investment opportunities.
• You will maintain and/or develop a strong network among a wide range of market counterparts including legal, financial and restructuring advisors, banks and companies
• Support with business development, marketing and control initiatives as may be required from time to time
• You will draw upon your network and experience to assist with due diligence (including the projection of future financial performance, and analysis of industry trends) and to determine an appropriate valuation for each investment

The Requirements

• You must have strong analytical & technical skills, are result-oriented, with attention to detail and quality when delivering results under time pressure
• 4-5 years’ experience in private credit, special situations, distressed credit, leverage finance, restructuring from an investment bank or alternative investment fund
• You must have proven project management and organizational skills
• Relevant Bachelor’s degree required from a top tier institution
