JOB SCOPE/ SUMMARY:
Supervise production scheduling, shipping, receiving, and transfer of raw materials and containers
Supervise, monitor, and control inventory of raw materials, containers and finished goods
Supervise all Receiving personnel and provide training and guidance to the entire department

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Ensure that all safety policies and procedures are strictly followed at all times.
Coordinate production scheduling and oversee the execution of the production plan.
Study OSHA, DOT, and environmental rules and regulations and ensure the proper certification training of all raw material and receiving personnel.
Train raw material and receiving personnel in storage, transfer, and record keeping procedures and maintain proper documentation of training.
Review equipment, storage and material identification problems associated with raw material handling with Plant Manager.
Monitor the proper handling, storage, labeling, and documentation of the disposition of yard material under the solvent recovery program.
Coordinate raw material and receiving deliveries and returns and resolve any billing issues.
Supervise first-in/first-out program for all raw materials.
Maintain clear verbal and written communications with Purchasing Department representatives to ensure raw material availability at all times.
Investigate problems involving contamination of raw materials in conjunction with Quality Control and Production personnel.
Maintain accurate inventories of all materials and conduct cycle and perpetual inventory counts as needed.
Ensure all personnel use and are properly trained in SAP systems and transactions.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION/TRAINING:
Bachelor’s degree in appropriate area or equivalent experience
Education, training, or certification in production and inventory control processes
Thorough and progressively responsible experience in receiving, shipping and inventory control functions

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES RECOMMENDED FOR POSITION:
Thorough knowledge of receiving, shipping, inventory control and records management practices and procedures
Thorough knowledge of safety procedures, including OSHA, DOT and environmental rules and regulations
Thorough knowledge of applicable production and inventory control computer systems and programs
Thorough knowledge of SAP systems and transactions
Considerable knowledge of material storage practices, handling and disposal of raw material and hazardous substances
Knowledge of management principles and techniques
Ability to plan, organize and complete projects and assignments in a timely manner
Ability to communicate effectively with others, both orally and in writing
Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships
