JobSummary: Union Square & Co., a subsidiary of Barnes & Noble, Inc., is seeking an Inventory Analyst to oversee the planning, execution, and monitoring of supply chain activities, synchronizing supply with demand. The Inventory Analyst works closely with the Production, Finance and Sales departments. This position reports to and provides support to the Director, Inventory, and the Director of Finance.
An employee in this position can expect an annual starting rate between $70,000 and $75,000 depending on experience, seniority, geographic locations, and other factors permitted by law.
- Reviews all sales reserve requests and monitors daily.
- Identifies slow-moving inventory to determine disposition.
- Analyzes initial print quantities against shipments for future planning intelligence.
- Analyzes data and determines reprint candidates and works to determine final quantities.
- Creates reprint P&L’s to ensure required margins are achieved.
- Works closely with Sales Department to ensure in stock status on all time critical sales, promotions, new customers, and hot titles.
- Responds to all internal inventory requests.
- Reviews daily large order and backorder report and reprints accordingly.
- Monitors inventory levels to achieve balance between sales needs and capacity/capital constraints.
- Tracks all reprints with Production to ensure deadlines are met.
- Generates ad hoc reports as requested.
- Maintains inventory management database.
- Minimum 3 years prior supply chain experience. Book publishing experience preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, specifically advanced Excel, and Access knowledge.
- Proven analytical experience with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work within fast-paced deadline driven environment.
- Works independently with minimal supervision.
- 4-year college degree or equivalent work experience.
