Interpreter Jobs

Hours: Monday - Friday (available between the hours of 7:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.) 40 hours per week

Hiring Rate: $22.60/hour

The Interpreter will perform responsible work providing interpreting for clients in clinical settings as a Spanish-language interpreter. The Interpreter will carry out a variety of administrative tasks associated with the dental program clinical and community activities.

CHA requires employees to be up to date on all vaccines, including flu and COVID vaccines, and provides vaccination for staff. Vaccines must be up to date, or you must be willing to update them upon hire.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Responsible for scanning documents for the Dental Program (Clinic and Community)
• Assist with referrals, consultations and follow-up to specialists for the Dental Program (Clinic and Community)
• Assist in the provision of care by interpreting from English to Spanish and Spanish to English
• Translate written documents from English to Spanish as needed
• Maintain dental appointment schedule within specified scheduling guidelines
• Interview clients and obtain financial information, medical and personal data
• Answer telephone and return voicemail as needed

Education/Experience: Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school. Previous or current experience in a dental/medical facility or program. Fluency in English and Spanish required. Dentrix software experience preferred. Interpreter assessment must be passed pre-hire.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

• Possess ability to solve problems within a scope of responsibility and seek assistance from supervisor
• Able to practice sound hygiene, sanitation and OSHA practices/techniques
• Thorough knowledge of standard office practices, procedures and office assistance techniques
• Accurately enter data into computer reports at a reasonable rate of speed
• Ability to work independently, be extremely flexible, work as part of a team and possess good decision-making skills
• Knowledge of business English, spelling and grammar
