International Officer Jobs

Acumen (Part of Sannam S4 Group) is seeking an International Officer to provide recruitment support and partnership development for a leading Canadian university, the University of British Columbia. Preferred applicants will have experience in recruitment, as well as communication and marketing skills. This is a remote role that will require travel to recruitment events in the United States and occasional international travel, including to Canada to work with university colleagues.

We are seeking someone with:

• Experience of managing projects and budgets.
• Strong commitment to the student experience.
• Ability to demonstrate capacity for new and independent thinking and for seeking novel solutions in a marketing setting.
• Knowledge of the higher education industry with a focus on Canadian higher education.
• Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States. Sannam S4 does not sponsor employment visas.
• Ability to work remotely from a home office.
• A customer focused approach to all areas of the job.
• Ability to network effectively both with staff within the University of British Columbia and with key contacts across the USA.
• Willingness and ability to work both independently and part of a team.
• Minimum bachelor’s degree.
• Experience in higher education recruiting.
• Knowledge of the United States higher education systems.
• Holds a valid US driver’s license.
• Willingness to work off-hours to accommodate the PST time-zone when needed.
• Confident in delivering presentations and other public speaking activities.
• Desire and ability to travel regularly (in North America).

Overview of the International Officer Role

As an International Officer, you will work collaboratively with the team to develop and implement a marketing plan to recruit students from the United States. Specifically, you will:

• Represent the University at education and recruitment fairs, conferences, and school visits.
• Provide market insight on United States trends and makes recommendations to support informed decision making for the development of the marketing strategies of these markets.
• Contribute to the development of online and offline marketing tools.
• Identify opportunities – and effectively communicates these opportunities in the form of written strategic plans – to increase market visibility for the University.
• Develop effective internal and external working relationships with a range of campus communities, and external partners, representatives, and professional organizations, leveraging these networks to achieve targets set by the University.
• Liaise closely with a range of colleagues.
• Develop and implement outreach, develop marketing and recruitment strategies to increase the number of full-time on-campus, undergraduate students from the United States.
