Intermediate Architectural Designer Jobs

Beyer Blinder Belle, an award-winning architecture firm with offices in New York City, Boston, and Washington DC, seeks an Intermediate Architectural Designer to join the New York office.

I. Role

We are looking for a motivated individual with experience in multi-family residential or mixed-use urban projects to work within a project team to develop design and technical documentation. Projects will be comprised of residential, mixed-use, hospitality, or commercial sectors. Must have strong communication and interpersonal skills and capable of working independently and within project teams efficiently. Individual will report directly to the Project Architect, and interface with the Principal/Partner in Charge of the project.

II. Responsibilities

• Provide design & technical guidance to junior staff.
• Perform work to quality standards on all project documents for compliance with office standards, client requirements, code, and zoning requirements.
• Independently evaluate, select and apply architectural solutions for specified project assignments.
• Be facile and contribute to the Revit model assembly.
• Preparation of concept materials and precedent images for internal and client presentations.
• Production of design materials including 2D & 3D representation for client presentations and review.
• Investigate, evaluate, and putting together cohesive, well-conceived design & planning ideas meeting project needs.
• Coordinate work with consultants and internal BBB team.

III. Required Skills, Knowledge, and Experience

• Must have a thorough knowledge of Revit.
• Must have thorough knowledge and proficiency in AutoCAD and excellent 3D modeling (Rhino) and rendering skills (Enscape, V-ray).
• Excellent graphics and organization skills in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign).
• 5+ years professional work experience in general architectural practice, with at least 2 years focused on the residential sector.
• Ability to condense, categorize, and present research and design ideas.
• Strong Knowledge of current architectural methodologies and design vocabularies.
• Must have ability to assist with all phases of project from Schematic Design through Construction Administration.
• Sophisticated design background with ability to ensure continuity and delivery of design intent.
• Knowledgeable with multi-family typology in both design and construction (experience in mid to large size projects is a plus).

This is a full-time position with excellent benefits. The salary is commensurate with experience and ability ranging between $66,000 and $82,500 per annum, excluding bonuses and other benefits.
