Chief Financial Officer (CFO) - Private Equity- New York, NY

We are seeking an experienced Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join a highly successful private equity firm located in New York, NY. The CFO will be responsible for overseeing the financial operations of the firm and its portfolio companies, including financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and cash management. The ideal candidate will have 15+ years’ experience working in private equity, and be able to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and MUST have vendor selection experience.

This is a 6 month contract position that will pay $100-115/hr within a 40 hour work week.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the day-to-day financial operations of the firm and its portfolio companies, including financial reporting, accounting, tax, treasury, and risk management.
• Collaborate with investment professionals to evaluate potential investments and manage the due diligence process.
• Monitor and manage cash flow for the firm and its portfolio companies, and ensure the timely and accurate processing of all financial transactions.
• Develop and manage the annual budget and ongoing financial planning and analysis for the firm and its portfolio companies.
• Manage the financial reporting process for the firm and its portfolio companies, including the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, and ensure compliance with GAAP and other accounting standards.
• Manage relationships with external auditors, tax advisors, and other financial service providers.
• Develop and maintain financial models and forecasts to support business decision-making and strategic planning.
• Support fundraising and investor relations activities, including the preparation of investor presentations and financial reports.

Qualifications:

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a strong attention to detail.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across cross-functional teams.
• Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and other accounting standards, and experience with financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and cash management.
• Must have vendor selection experience.
• 10+ years of experience in accounting or finance, including 5+ years in a leadership role in private equity or investment banking.
• Experience with financial modeling and analysis, including the ability to develop complex financial models and scenarios.
• Experience with private equity fund structures, and knowledge of relevant SEC regulations preferred.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or MBA preferred.
