ABS Insulating, Inc. seeks an experienced and talented Production Supervisor to join our Charlotte, North Carolina team. Qualifications Required:

  • Serve as primary contact for construction projects to sales representatives, homeowners, builders, inspectors, subcontractors, and employees.
  • Coordinate and communicate with inspectors in connection with city inspections.
  • Maintain appropriate communication and satisfactory customer relations; handle customer complaints and grievances.
  • Read construction project plans to determine construction requirements.
  • Manage labor; analyze job cost reports.
  • Ability to utilize current technology to manage daily scheduling and productivity.
  • Create and review daily schedules; assign work to employees using material and labor requirements.
  • Analyze and plan workflow; ensure proper staffing to complete jobs and meet builder needs.
  • Ensure staff compliance with rules and regulations, standard building codes, and company policies.
  • Attend sales meetings and assist sales personnel with labor rate bidding of unique jobs, as required.
  • Hire, train, evaluate, coach, and terminate crew leads and skilled labor; analyze and resolve worker problems.
  • Conduct safety meetings; ensure that operations conform to local, state, and federal safety laws and regulations.
  • Supervise yard and warehouse cleanliness, organization, and proper storage of inventory items and equipment.
  • EOE/DFWP/Criminal Background Check.
  • Inspect equipment; maintain vehicle service records and make recommendations to management on capital purchases.
  • Examine and inspect work progress, equipment, and construction sites to verify safety and ensure specifications and quality standards are met; conduct pre-walk of job sites, as required.
  • Oversee all inventory control procedures including daily in and out, scrap usage, monthly physical inventory, and inventory audits.

Essential Skills:

  • Strong work ethic.
  • Ability to manage through conflict, complexity, and problem solve issues.
  • Demonstrated computer skills; working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of construction industry practices, materials, methods, and the tools involved in constructing houses and buildings.
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent; Associate’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of five (5) years related industry experience; three (3) years in a supervisor capacity.
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local safety laws and regulations and building codes.
  • Ability to work independently; self-directed, takes initiative in seeking efficiencies of processes; follow-through on implementation.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills; works collaboratively with others and can maintain positive working relationships with team members.
  • Ability to handle several projects concurrently; can give direction, adapt to change, establish relationships.
  • Demonstrates analytical, critical thinking, and organizational skills; strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Negotiation/persuasion skills; ability to influence decision makers.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal; ability to comfortably and consistently communicate to employees, project team, subcontractors, and customers.
  • Ability to read blueprints; ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide quickly and correctly.
