MajorDuties
As an Information Technology Specialist (INET) you will: Develop, maintain, and continuously improve interactive databases as well as static content for HHS websites. Plan, develop, implement, and evaluate all aspects of IT projects involving use of Internet-based databases and data collection systems for HHS programs, customers, managers, employees, and citizens. Develop interactive database applications and associated project functions. Promote development of computer applications utilized to produce reports and/or studies. Provide technical advice, instruction, and leadership to all HHS components in the identification and procurement of systems applications for web-based application enhancement. Design, develop, program, implement, and maintain software applications for the purpose of implementing Agency public reporting initiatives. Install and convert databases to be included in content management applications. Provide professional support, technical assistance, consultation and training and develop educational and training materials. Serves as a technical advisor to groups using or interesting in making improvements to sections of HHS's websites.

If required to submit to urinalysis, the appointment to the position will be contingent upon a negative applicant drug test result. In order to demonstrate commitment to the HHS goal of a drug-free workplace and to set an example for other Federal employees, employees not in a testing designated position may volunteer for unannounced random testing by notifying their Drug-free Federal Workplace Program Point of Contact upon hiring.

Minimum Qualifications: Applicants must have one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level of in the Federal service as defined in the next paragraph. Specialized experience is experience which is directly related to the position which has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities (KSAs) to successfully perform the duties of the position to include experience applying technology to achieve enterprise communication needs, developing innovative digital tools and leading digital media systems. Documenting Experience: In accordance with Office of Personnel Management policy, federal employees are assumed to have gained experience by performing duties and responsibilities appropriate for their official series and grade level as described in their position description.
