Job Description

The Information Technology Manager will be responsible for working across cross-functional teams in assessing, designing, implementing, and integrating network architectures, administering system security protocols, and deploying and maintaining IT systems, applications, and databases. Will lead all company technology operations and ensure they are running efficiently and effectively.

  • Assure a pro-active approach toward utilization and consumption of PowerPollen data and build out for expansion.
  • Perform overall information systems planning, implementation and administrative procedures including; conducting maintenance, troubleshooting, optimization.
  • Advise and influence all levels of team members and leadership on marketplace evolution and the potential application of information and technology, in alignment with the company’s overall strategy and execution objectives.
  • Assure solid transfer of knowledge is in place for internal team member systems utilization and consistency and for external customer access, utilization and consistency.
  • Assure all data systems and repositories have proper and high-level securities associated with internal team and external customer accesses.
  • Oversee all network infrastructure including servers, network routers, switches, access points and telecommunication equipment.
  • Develop and implement policies related to network security, disaster recovery, and IT infrastructure as well as set and maintain electronic record keeping protocols and standards.
  • Recommendation for, and procurement of, company IT hardware and associated assets.
  • Ensure security of data, network access and backup systems
  • Leads organization to identify, develop and utilize standardized data platforms assuring organizational consistency and standardization.
  • May be involved in work related to data curation and overseeing data formatting criteria development and auditing.
  • Maintain key relationships with strategic IT vendors.
  • Establishes, maintains, and manages internal and external PowerPollen IT systems user profiling.
  • Train personnel and ensure employees understand IT policies.
  • In collaboration with Data Manager:
    • Assure solid transfer of knowledge is in place for internal team member systems utilization and consistency and for external customer access, utilization and consistency.
    • Assure a pro-active approach toward utilization and consumption of PowerPollen data and build out for expansion.
    • Assures data formatting and data storage protocols and consistencies.
    • May be involved in work related to data curation and overseeing data formatting criteria development and auditing.
    • May be asked to lead, support, or collaborate on varied data management needs as they relate to R&D processes.
  • Conducts assessment of data analysis tool options and may be involved in the build/development/maintenance of internal IT tools and systems.
  • Effectively recognize, develop, and execute IT initiatives and projects, continually developing and evaluating new technologies and tools for the company.
  • Assures data formatting and data storage protocols and consistencies.
  • May be asked to lead, support, or collaborate on varied data management needs as they relate to R&D processes.
  • Audit systems and assess their outcomes.
  • Identify, evaluate, recommend, and support all enterprise level communication and team collaboration systems including e-mail, video/virtual conferencing, shared collaboration repositories and messaging systems.
  • Preserve assets, information security and control structures.
  • Handle annual budget and ensure cost-effectiveness.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Prefer some previous supervisory experience.
  • Experience or familiarity with ERP systems and integration of various independent platforms.
  • 3+ years of related experience and/or training; equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience working with highly scientific and intellectually protected data and data systems.
  • Track record of implementing and integrating IT solutions, some of which incorporate a wide range of applications and technologies.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field, or specialized IT degree/certification from an accredited school.

Working Conditions

The Information Technology Manager is a primarily on-site position, requiring regular in-person interactions with team members. Occasional remote work will be considered by exception.

This position is an indoor office-based position however candidates should be comfortable on occasion that business may be conducted in any of our various working environments including warehouses, labs, outdoor fields and field operation stations (field work includes typical outdoor agricultural conditions throughout the year, climatized vehicles as well as mobile labs).

Physical Requirements

The position may on occasion involve physical activity including lifting objects up to 50 pounds, walking on uneven terrain, ability to tolerate heat and humidity typical of local field conditions,

Extended periods sitting and viewing computer screen monitors should be expected.
