About the role:
Gen3 is expanding into new markets and we need smart, creative people to help us get there. The ideal applicant Information Security Policy Analyst (OPSEC Specialist) would have extensive knowledge of the technical aspects of Operational Security, such as the development and implementation of processes and technology in accordance with the applicable standards and recommendations of the National Operations Security Program Office. Business operations and the current IT security policy require the creation of supplementary policy and process. Your primary responsibility as our OPSEC specialist will be to devise a strategy and project plan for expanding our client's OPSEC capabilities.
Location: Remote, U.S.
What you'll do:
- Look into the advice given by smaller and more localized agencies for creating and maintaining an OPSEC program.
- Help establish an OPSEC program that follows NSPM-28 (National Security Presidential Memorandum) and includes the creation of rules, processes, and governance, as well as other best practices.
- Keep an eye on the National Security Council (NSC) and the Office of the Director of National Intelligence's (ODNI) National Counterintelligence and Security Center for operational security laws, regulations, and policies.
What you'll need:
- Experience in technical writing for the federal government, preferably in the field of cyber security, is required.
- Familiarity with supply chain policies and regulations, as well as NIST special publications such as NIST 800-171 and 800-53.
- A Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or 5 years of relevant work experience.
- Mastery of Counterintelligence principles and methods.
- Knowledge of creating and defining a federal IT/cyber program.
- Minimum of two years' experience managing the day-to-day operations of a Cyber OPSEC program's is required.
What's desired to have:
- Ability to report OPSEC risks to management on a regular basis and suggest ways to reduce those risks.
- Make sure that IT-related publications have accurate uses of technical language.
- Contract deliverables often need the author to write or revise technical papers such as business proposals, reports, user manuals, briefings and presentations, functional descriptions, system specifications, guidelines, special reports, and so on.
- Ability to produce and revise technical, high-level deliverables.
