Production Lead - 2Nd Shift

SafetyFresh Foods located in Plymouth, Wisconsin is looking to add a Production Lead to our second shift. SafetyFresh Foods is an HPP (High Pressure Processing) facility. HPP is a unique, non-thermal process that kills pathogenic bacteria (listeria, salmonella, E. coli ) and spoilage organisms (yeast, mold) through high-pressure, water-based technology. It is a USDA/FSIS and FDA-approved, 100% natural process, and is allowed for use on organic and natural products. It uses pure cold water, and up to 87,000 psi (6,000 bar) to inactivate pathogens and dramatically extend shelf life. No chemicals. No heat. No additives. Unlike traditional thermal pasteurization and other high-heat treatments, HPP runs cold. It doesn't alter food taste, texture or quality, or require loads of chemicals to stay fresh. Even better, it can extend shelf life up to three times longer than traditional preservation methods. Food waste costs producers $750 billion every year. As our Production lead - you will be responsible for the team that uses this amazing technology day in and day out. The Production Lead manages the daily activities of his or her area including ownership of results, coaching employees, interfacing with other departments, and meeting production goals. The position also handles production related recordkeeping include but not limited to printing labels, completing food safety checks, and ensures paperwork is completed. ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES/FUNCTIONS: Coordinate the startup activities of the area including safety, quality, food safety inspection of product scheduled and the production line. Demonstrate proactive planning for the line and area for next day planning, safety, sanitation, maintenance and team needs. Communicate with other areas in regards to scheduling and other production related issues. Responsible for operating computer systems to track quality trends and production activity. Daily auditing of the cleaning, inspections and 5S organization of the area. Teach and provide direction to employees to meet requirements. Coordinate production activities and people to assure that quality and food safety standards are met. Troubleshoot and perform basic machine issues, call for help when troubleshooting scope is exhausted Assists with audit preparation as necessary Minimum 3 years' hands-on experience in a production environment; produce industry a plus but not required Strong computer skills Ability to read and write English Strong organizational, analytical and problem solving skills.
