About the Unit

Yara North America is a manufacturer, importer, and distributor of Dry and Liquid Fertilizers in the US and Canada through our extensive network of import and inland distribution terminals. The Indirect Procurement Manager will be the North America representative on S2P (Source to Pay) processes related to governance, excellence, policy changes and system upgrades. The position holder will also oversee, implement, manage, and lead the Indirect procurement strategy and execution for North America Supply Chain Operations (terminals and other categories outside of production plants) in alignment with Yara’s Corporate and Regional indirect procurement governance, policies, and procedures where applicable.

This person will collaborate with Yara’s Indirect Procurement teams, Regional teams, Category Management teams and North America Production Plants to develop mature indirect procurement practices within North America; driving governance, best practices in North America and balance the unit needs with Corporate and/or regional policy. This position will report to the VP-Supply Chain Operations.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for enhancing and build the skills and capabilities of the procurement organization.
• Define and implement BUNA procurement policies, processes and practices as applicable to the business.
• Stay up to date on initiatives and organize with the unit as needed.
• Define and implement Procurement KPI’s and reporting for the unit.
• Manage key strategic relationships with local and global suppliers.
• For Supply Chain Operations:
  • Define and implement BUNA procurement policies, processes and practices as applicable to the business.
  • Align BUNA indirect procurement with Corporate and Regional Indirect Procurement governance and practices where applicable. Lead North America Procurement team (local teams in US and Canada) and be active with the Corporate LEAP team.
  • Define and implement Procurement KPI’s and reporting for the unit.
  • Develop category strategies and deliver financial cases for improvement initiatives.
  • Drive process improvement as a normal way of working to streamline procurement activities.
  • Collaborate with Finance to develop accounting practices and management reporting standards.
  • Manage key strategic relationships with local and global suppliers.
  • Responsible for BUNA SAP S4 Source to Pay workstream processes implementation and oversight.
  • Responsible for enhancing and build the skills and capabilities of the procurement organization.

• Represent the unit and actively collaborate with Corporate Indirect Procurement on Procurement, Governance, Systems & Excellence.

• Workstream Leader for Source to Pay
• Drive process improvement as a normal way of working to streamline procurement activities.
• Align BUNA indirect procurement with Corporate and Regional Indirect Procurement governance and practices where applicable. Lead North America Procurement team (local teams in US and Canada) and be active with the Corporate LEAP team.
• Develop and understand Procurement Practices, linkages to Corporate Indirect Procurement, systems, etc. of the Production facilities in order to properly represent their interests.

Profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience preferably with SAP and project coordination.
• Ability to manage and prioritize a diverse workload.
• Work experience 10+ years in Sourcing/Procurement discipline preferred, ideally within a large multi-national company.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Supply Chain. Master’s degree is a plus.
• Agriculture industry or bulk material handling industry experience is a plus
• Collaborative style (across team/multiple teams and remote management).
• Sound IT skills – particularly in spreadsheet, word processing and presentation packages.
• Fluent in English is required.
• Good knowledge of Services and Goods contracting.
• Understanding of the end-to-end Procurement process including experience of Strategic Sourcing & Supplier Relationship Management.
• Good communication and presentation skills, both verbal and written.
