Our client, a leading point-of-sales software and fintech company, is hiring for a Payroll Operations Specialist to join their team located in San Francisco, CA.
The Payroll Operations Specialist will be responsible for providing a commitment to excellent customer service for newly onboarded customers with their new payroll software. Gathering payroll data and collecting feedback from customers will be the main function of this role. The ideal candidate will have experience with account management and a strong understanding of accounting or payroll processes.
***This is a 3-month contract to start with the opportunity for extension/conversion***
***This role is 100% remote***
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide an attentive level of customer service with merchants and external parties
- Validate and enter new customer payroll history into the payroll system
- Assist with quarterly tax filings and tax payments for payroll customers
- Receive feedback from merchant onboarding issues and create pragmatic solutions to improve the onboarding process
- Surface opportunities to improve tools, workflow and customer experience
- Collaborate with the Payroll Team to identify improvements in customer on-boarding
- Liaise directly with payroll customers in order to gather necessary payroll history
Required Skills and Experience:
- Intermediate experience with Excel is necessary for this role (i.e. pivot tables, VLOOKUPS, etc.)
- Excellent communication skills over email, phone, and in-person
- 2+ year of experience in payroll, accounting, finance or relevant professional experience
