Company Description
- Key Responsibility 1: Working with referring physicians, referring offices, radiologists, and the patient, correctly schedules imaging procedures. Gathers and electronically charts all documentation required to be in place prior to patient appointment.
- Checks pre-authorization status as appropriate.
- Demonstrates organizational skills that allow for timely documentation in the EMR.
- Maintains communications with the patient when at the facility for care. Helps clinical staff with patient communications.
- Documents vital information required to obtain accurate reporting for regulatory agencies via the electronic medical record reporting systems.
- Key Responsibility 2: Documents accurate patient care activity in various electronic health records systems. Adheres to Joint Commission, State, Federal and departmental regulatory compliance standards.
- Manages all patient records interactions in full compliance with HIM policy of Shore Regional Health. Functions at the level of an HIM clerk.
- Ensures documentation is timely, accurate
- Key Responsibility 3: Performs the key responsibilities of the department’s receptionists and registrars.
- Able to, and willingly helps to, perform all duties of the Radiology Clerk, especially those related to electronic image transfer and management of digital media
- Able to, and willingly agrees to, travel to other Imaging locations at Shore Regional Health to cover the Radiology Clerk duties at the reception areas.
- Comprehends the importance of accurate and timely data input in our ability to report and trend data to improve the patient experience.
- Key Responsibility 4: Documents patient data and time stamps in active support of departmental and organizational performance improvement initiatives and efforts to improve workflows, patient experience, and quality.
- Offers workflow changes that could improve the scheduling process and the patient care experience for scheduled procedures.
- With warmth and concern, helps callers find the correct phone numbers and directs their wayward calls to the appropriate departments, ensuring “warm” transfers are employed.
- Kindly offers wayfinding assistance to patients who approach the Imaging Front Desk area
- Key Responsibility 5: Recognizes key role in enhancing the patient experience as the initial patient contact and continued contact for the patients as they move through their advanced imaging procedural encounter
- Required:
- Associate or Bachelor Degree
- This position requires a person who exhibits a positive attitude, excellent communication skills, the ability to work productively under stress, and who displays a professional demeanor and is able to prioritize workloads.
- Must be willing to travel between facilities.
- Experience
- Minimum of 2 years scheduling and/or registration experience OR 4 years as Radiology Clerk
- CPR certification is required.
- Preferred:
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- Computer scheduling, electronic health records systems, and/or MS Office Suite experience
- Medical Terminology coursework
