Job Description

YWCA Columbus is searching for our next Human Resource Generalist! In this role, you will manage our recruitment, onboarding for our Education Department, assist with performance management program and benefits administration. You will also support the day-to-day HR transactions within the HR team including training and professional development. In addition, you will build strong relationships with our agency's managers in order to help them with their human resource needs.

What you’ll do as the Human Resource Generalist:

  • Answer employee questions and addresses employee concerns with company; including employee safety, welfare, wellness and health
  • Provide guidance on the interpretation of HR policies and procedures; communicates company and government rules, regulations and procedures and the need for compliance to management and employees.
  • Responsible for recruiting, selecting, and onboarding of agency personnel. Develop recruitment strategies as a way to achieve required staffing levels.
  • Participate in job fairs and host in-house recruitment events.
  • Assist with the administration of the on-line performance management program via ADP.
  • Assist in administering benefits, unemployment and worker’s compensation claims.
  • Facilitate and manage the onboarding and orientation processes.


What we’re looking for in the Human Resources Generalist:

  • Strong knowledge and good understanding of the recruitment and onboarding process.
  • Experience administering benefits, unemployment and worker’s compensation claims.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence others and build strong, collaborative relationships, and networks.
  • Familiarity with Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion concepts and initiatives.
  • Experience administering staff development training desired.
  • Ideal candidate should be detail-oriented, professional and have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Be a strategic thinker with the ability to develop, communicate and implement plans that support the overall goals of the organization.
  • Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration/Management, or related field, combined with three (3) years Human Resources experience or; some college with four (4) years of Human Resources experience.
