Human Resources Generalist at Ahola


Ahola's HR Generalist assists the HR Manager with execution of all processes related to HR, Benefits and HRIS administration for Ahola's employees. The HR Generalist will be responsible for employee data integrity, record keeping and compliance, and a positive employee experience with the Company's Human Resource Information System (isolved). In addition, the HR Generalist is responsible for assisting with recruiting, on-boarding, off-boarding, job changes, and other HR functions.

What You'll Do As HR Generalist At Ahola


  • Serve as the primary coordinator for all health and welfare programs such as medical, dental, and vision.
  • Attend company provided training and seminars provided by professional associations.
  • In the absence of the HR Manager, assist with addressing employee concerns to the level of their ability.
  • Assist with employee onboarding, including new employee orientation and benefits enrollment.
  • Stay current with timekeeping, payroll, benefits, leave and tax laws.
  • Compile and deploy monthly HR Newsletter.
  • Assists HR Manager with researching and answering employees' questions relating to payroll, time reporting and collection, benefits, and company policies.
  • Assist in creating and updating employee job descriptions.
  • Assist with HR initiatives and special projects.
  • Set up and maintain personnel and other employment files ensuring accuracy, compliance, and confidentiality.
  • Maintain and update the employee phone list, emergency phone records and office seating diagram.
  • Create and post job requisitions and manage candidates including extending offers, initiating pre-employment testing, processing hires, and dispositioning candidates not selected in Ahola's applicant tracking system.
  • Coordinate welcoming of new hires, including desk setup, creating nameplate, and new hire orientation quick reference guide.
  • Attend Engagement Committee meetings and assist with planning of Ahola engagement events.
  • Learn the Ahola payroll process and assist as backup for internal payroll processing.
  • Assist with recruiting, interviewing and on-boarding of selected candidates.
  • Assist HR Manager with mid-year and year-end benefits audits.
  • Assist HR Manager with administration of the annual open enrollment process for benefits, including configuration of electronic enrollment software, adding benefits data, and updating rate tables.
  • Maintain employee self-service information including documents and policies.
  • Upload employee records to isolved.
  • Manage applicant tracking, candidate identification, scheduling and selection.


Experience You Will Need


  • Minimum 2+ years of experience in human resources.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Knowledge of payroll principles.
  • Associate Degree in Human Resources or related field.
  • Certification in Human Resources preferred, or, willing to pursue certification.
  • Knowledge of HRIS systems and report writing.
