Summary:

The nation’s foremost music museum, the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, seeks a Human Resources Generalist to join our dynamic team working with the Director of People & Analytics on a wide range of human resources activities, including, but not limited to, payroll and benefits administration, employee relations, policies and procedures, and special projects. The Rock Hall is a working environment emphasizing innovation, collaboration, and intentional growth. Passion for the history of rock and roll and related music genres is an absolute.

RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES

Compensation & Benefits

  • Coordinates paperwork related to benefits, retirement plans, COBRA continuation, workers’ compensation, leave of absence, and unemployment.
  • Processes employee changes and submits payroll information; troubleshoots payroll issues; distributes paychecks.
  • Responds to employee’s benefit questions, assists with resolution of problems regarding access to or payment of benefits, and processes change requests.
  • Assists with communication of benefit programs changes and updates including annual open enrollment.

Legal Compliance & Reporting

  • Supports administration, coordination, and application of company-wide human resources policies, procedures, and practices.
  • Posts required labor law information.
  • Processes internal and external reporting requests; annual audits including 5500 filings, EEO-1 reporting, payroll statistics for finance team.
  • Coordinates administration of workers’ compensation and unemployment claims.

General HR Duties

  • Screens and routes telephone calls and department mail.
  • Identifies potential employee-relations issues and makes recommendations to management.
  • Works to improve the Rock Hall's equity and inclusion for employees by assisting in staff retention and development, assists in collecting and analyzing data on staff's dimensions of diversity.
  • Provides administrative support to the VP of Culture & Strategy.
  • Promotes positive employee relations through design, communication, and interpretation of human resources policies and programs.
  • Coordinates distribution/communication of projects including but not limited to Employee Policy handbook, and 403(b) retirement.

Duties include but may not be limited to the above.

JOB REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Ability to deal effectively with a diversity of individuals at all organizational levels.

  • Working knowledge of HR laws and regulations.

  • Proficient in ADP Workforce Now
  • Ability to prepare reports and business correspondence.
  • Ability to manage priorities and workflow.
  • Proven ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) or equivalent, two to four years related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
  • Demonstrates a high level of professionalism in dealing with confidential and sensitive issues.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a high level of emotional intelligence
  • Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with people at all levels and from various backgrounds.
  • Bilingual skills a plus.

Unique Expertise/Certification/Registrations:

  • Knowledge of Americans with Disabilities Act, EEO, and other State and Federal employment laws.
  • Knowledge of employment conditions, wage increases and procedures for two unions and ability to relay such information to employees.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality in all assignments.
  • Ability to successfully pass a Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum reference check, background investigation and drug screening.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to deal effectively with employees, applicants, finance committee and board members.
  • Knowledge of the Museum’s Benefits Programs.

Benefits and Compensation

The annual salary range for this position is $52,000 - $65,000, commensurate with experience and certifications.

The Rock Hall offers a generous benefits package including 4 plan options for health insurance All other benefits are company paid including dental, vision, and life insurance. Other perks include 403b, and yearly paid time off including: 10 vacation days, 12 sick days, 3 personal days, 14 paid holidays, and 4 paid volunteer days.
