Job Description

The Human Resources (HR) Generalist oversees the human resources responsibilities and activities of GuideStar Eldercare Medical Group. This position manages onboarding processes, employee relations, employment law related to regulatory compliance, new hire orientation, and training and development. The HR Generalist will also evaluate HR processes, make recommendations for improvements and execute as approved by the HR Director, Chief Human Resources Officer, or Executive Leadership Team.


General Responsibilities:


  • Coordinate training sessions and maintain training records.
  • Assist employees with questions related to their benefits and resolve any issues related to benefits enrollment or claims.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of employee training programs.
  • Assist with disciplinary action when necessary.
  • Administer employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and vacation policies.
  • Maintain HR records and ensure that all employee files are up-to-date and accurate.
  • Manage employee relations issues and ensure that employee complaints are resolved in a timely and effective manner.
  • Conduct investigations into employee concerns and grievances and recommend solutions.
  • Coach and provide feedback to employees on performance issues.
  • Respond to employee inquiries and complaints and provide guidance on HR policies and procedures.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of performance management systems, including goal setting, performance evaluations, and employee development plans.
  • Training and Development:
  • Assist with the preparation and submission of required government reports.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws and regulations, including those related to discrimination, harassment, and workplace safety.


Qualifications:


  • Strong decision making and problem-solving skills
  • SHRM certification preferred
  • Remarkable organizational and conflict management skills
  • Superb computer literacy with capability in email, MS Office, and HR software.
  • Fantastic knowledge of HR functions and best practices
  • 4+ years of experience as an HR Generalist
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Works comfortably under pressure and meets tight deadlines
  • Must have reliable transportation
  • Deep understanding of employment law and regulations
  • Able to pass background testing, including motor vehicle record review and drug screening.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field
  • Excellent record keeping skills
  • Efficient HR administration and people management skills
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
