Core Molding Technologies is looking for a Full-Time HR Generalist to join our team. The Human Resources Generalist provides essential customer service for all related needs of the Plant Human Resource Department. Serves as a critical contact for assisting with the administration of policies and programs covering the talent lifecycle which encompasses recruiting and headcount metrics; employee engagement programs; mediating employee-related matters; assisting in developing HR strategy; administering benefits and leave management; supporting payroll processes for the plant, employee benefits, and 401k audit/functions - within a diverse, fast-paced manufacturing culture.

Essential Functions

  • Reconcile HR-related invoices
  • Support recruitment activities for the plant
  • Update internal databases (e.g., HRIS, FMLA, and Disability)
  • Manage company communication with employees including monthly newsletter generation and distribution. Work directly with department managers to obtain topics to review for Safety, People, and Quality
  • Ensure Supervisors and Managers follow company policies and procedures
  • Verify payroll reports for processing
  • Utilize standard checklists for onboarding and termination to ensure consistency and accuracy in employee files
  • Prepare and present management reports (safety, turnover, absenteeism, etc.)
  • Manage unemployment claims
  • Update and maintain HR-related systems and processes including payroll-related data and processes and personnel records
  • Prepare HR documents, such as new hire orientation paperwork, FMLA, and Disability packets
  • Support the coordination of onboarding activities for hourly and salary new hires.
  • Promote an environment of positive employee relations, maintaining confidentiality, establishing trust and credibility
  • Apply Union contract consistently
  • Administer weekly and bi-weekly payroll processing
  • Administer various employee benefit programs; life, medical and dental, accident and disability insurance, and 401k to ensure time enrollments, claims administration, and annual benefit enrollment activities
  • Respond to employee issues, conflicts, questions, and concerns
  • Provide counseling and guidance to managers/partners in matters of employee relations
  • Coach and train Supervisors on employee development and motivation

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional manufacturing office and shop-floor environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This position is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday. Additionally, this position regularly requires long hours and weekend work.

Required Education, Skills, and Experience

  • Practical and effective written and verbal communications skills
  • Proven track record at delivering timely and accurate information in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work well with all cultures
  • Project management or project planning skills
  • A high energy level and strong work ethic
  • Can evaluate and research training options and alternatives
  • Must be highly proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite
  • Must be a team player with strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently
  • Human Resources & administrative experience
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent cooperation skills team orientation and flexibility required
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Human Resources or Operations
  • Adept with a variety of multimedia training platforms and methods.
  • Demonstrate behaviors that align with the organization's desired culture and values
  • Strong business acumen and ability to interface effectively with executive management
  • Five to seven years in HR roles with generalist responsibilities, preferably in a manufacturing, union environment organization
  • Excellent critical thinking, problem-solving and mathematical skills, and sound judgment

Preferred Education, Qualifications, and Experience

A master's degree or seven years of experience
