Job Description

The HR Manager - Talent Management is responsible for overseeing the execution of talent management initiatives that support the recruitment, onboarding, engagement, and retention of our workforce. This role will lead a team of Talent Acquisition Specialists and work closely with our members of the HR team to foster a positive and productive team environment. Ongoing and frequent collaboration with other Home Office departments and school leadership/staff is also critical to the success of this role.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Talent Acquisition:

  • Recruit, evaluate, screen, and coordinate the hiring of qualified candidates for Home Office positions (including managing reference checks).
  • Work with the TAS team and marketing team to promote openings within appropriate geographic locations and communities.
  • Partner with marketing team regarding advertising, promoted job postings, and additional recruitment efforts.
  • Research and bring forward new sourcing strategies that will help promoting and enhancing the NHA brand.
  • Manage Indeed/Glassdoor partnership, sponsored posts, and TAS team subscriptions.
  • Manage openings in all markets; develop and implement reporting that effectively track and illustrate staffing trends and opportunities.
  • Oversee the onboarding program for new hires to ensure a consistent, meaningful, and inclusive onboarding experience.
  • Collaborate with operations leadership in all markets to identify staffing needs/trends and propose initiatives that drive talent acquisition results.

Performance Management and Talent Development:

Under the guidance and direction of the HR Director, Talent Management:

  • Help identify and develop plans to support the development of school staff within NHA.
  • Assist with quarterly and ongoing HR trainings for school management.
  • Assist with implementing and communicating performance management processes that align individual goals with organizational objectives.
  • Collaborate with other departments to track and enhance our performance review processes.
  • Monitor and analyze performance metrics to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
  • Provide guidance to HO and school management on effective performance feedback, documenting, and coaching.

Employee Relations:

Under the guidance and direction of the HR Director, Talent Management:

  • Foster a positive culture by resolving conflicts, promoting open communication, and implementing employee engagement initiatives.
  • Serve as a point of contact for employees and management, addressing inquires, concerns, and providing guidance on HR-related matters.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Develop the TAS team’s expertise in talent sourcing, candidate evaluation, and effective recruitment strategies.
  • Set performance goals, conduct regular performance reviews, and provide ongoing coaching and feedback to team members.
  • Oversee the Talent Acquisition Specialist (TAS) team and provide coaching and guidance that supports the development of our team members.

Other:

  • Fill in for TAS members when needed.
  • Stay up to date on state educational and licensing requirements for early childhood education employees.
  • Represent and promote NHA at colleges, communities, and career fairs as needed.
  • Actively participate in all HR team meetings, projects, and initiatives.
  • Conduct exit interviews for school management employees, analyze findings, and make recommendations.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Highly detailed and organized.
  • Strong understanding of the early childhood education industry and the unique HR challenges within the field highly preferred.
  • Solid working knowledge of talent acquisition, talent development and employee relations.
  • Strong business acumen.
  • Proven ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Highly detailed and organized.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in HR.
  • Experience in a supervisory or managerial role, with a proven ability to lead and develop teams.
  • A self-starter and take the initiative to improve processes.
  • Proficiency in Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and HRIS talent management systems.
  • Bachelor’s degree in human resource or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Must be adaptable to various competing priorities.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships at all levels of the organization.
