Job Description
Responsibilities


  • Maintain knowledge of current HSE practices, policies, trends, and technologies by developing industry working relationships and participating in exchange groups, associations, and committees.
  • Build the trust and respect required to maintain long-term relationships with internal and external business partners.
  • Manage all HSE activities within the operational context (i.e., ensure plans, tools, and processes are in place to allow for success).
  • Work with the Global HSE Compliance Manager to ensure that all environmental programs are implemented and being adhered to i.e., SPCC, air permitting, waste disposal etc.
  • Support HSE internal audits, corporate monitoring and record keeping efforts.
  • Interpret and apply region specific legislation, understand codes of practices and industry standards.
  • Facilitate and coordinate HSE training that addresses strategic priorities, regulatory requirements, and growth of individuals.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders, in the identification and prioritization of HSE initiatives.
  • Act as a change agent to integrate HSE processes consistent with corporate initiatives into the core business process.
  • Provide leadership, direction and oversee the successful delivery, implementation and administration of the company’s HSE policies, processes, and systems.
  • Strategic direction and support of HSE professionals
  • Support investigations into all incidents
  • Lead by demonstrating the required behaviors, attitudes, and mindset to develop a strong safety culture.


Communicate HSE performance and emerging trends to the leadership team and participate in the development and execution of mitigation strategies to reduce and prevent incidents from occurring


Requirements


  • Microsoft Office applications- Intermediate level.
  • Strong analytical skills and strategic thinking capability,
  • Strong grasp and understanding of OSHA regulations, EPA regulations, industrial hygiene, auditing, correction/preventive action, continuous improvement,
  • Ability to train, communicate and influence all levels of employees,
  • Minimum 5 years management experience and 10 years HSE experience
  • Professional certification is a plus (i.e., CSP, CIH, etc.),
  • Experience in transforming safety culture,
  • Ability to influence, inspire and motivate people who are not directly under his/her responsibility,
  • Ability to travel with 10% overnights.
  • Bachelor of Science (4-year) degree from an accredited university
