We are looking for an experienced individual who will spend their day multi-tasking a wide variety of HR duties to include: creative job postings, onboarding, new employee orientation, administering benefits, excellent customer service and interpreting policy and procedures. The ideal candidate is someone with knowledge and experience in pre-employment processing, onboarding, benefits and presentations among others.

Performs responsible human resources-related work in a district or the Human Resources Division. Work involves coordinating and communicating sensitive information; and maintaining confidentiality. Work requires contact with management, employees, retirees, health care providers, and state and federal agencies. Employees at this level follow standard practices that do not require frequent supervision of details. Will be trained in tasks to work independently.
Essential Duties:
- Represents the Department at job and benefits fairs.
- Serves as point of contact for certain Human Resource Programs.
- Updates human resources related databases
- Pre-employment processing for new employees to include background check, verification of prior state service, drug test and physicals when required and I-9s.
- Performs other job responsibilities as assigned.
- Enters and retrieves personnel transactions and/or insurance information using automated systems.
- Conducts employee forums, new employee orientation, annual enrollment, meetings or other human resources activities.
- Electronically maintains employment applications, personnel records and related files.
- Partners with the employees, HR Generalist team and department managers to administer Family Medical Leave (FMLA) and related programs, as appropriate.
- Researches, analyzes, and evaluates human resources issues, provides recommendations and prepares reports under the guidance of the Lead Worker
- Administers employee health benefits program including open enrollment, family status changes and employee inquires.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education: bachelor's degree in any discipline. Relevant work experience may be substituted for education on a year per year basis. Substitutions for Minimum Qualifications
Experience: No experience required.
Licenses and Certifications: Valid driver’s license. This position requires driving a state vehicle.

- Preparing and maintaining confidential and sensitive records, files and reports
- Maintaining effective working relationships with others
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
- Repetitive Motion-substantial movements of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers
- Sitting - prolonged periods of time
- Close Visual Acuity-work includes data/figures; view a computer screen; extensive reading.
- Sedentary work: Lift up to 10 lbs at a time and occasionally carry files/small tools
