The Opportunity


The Human Resources Coordinator will be responsible for providing HR support and administration at our Verona, Virginia manufacturing facility.The successful candidate will be highly organized with strong communication skills, and the ability to multitask when priorities change. They must also possess excellent administrative and computer skills, especially in Excel. This role includes working collaboratively with the HR team as well as various client groups to ultimately support and coordinate human resources functions and initiatives.


Responsibilities


  • Provides administrative support to the human resource function, including record-keeping, file maintenance and data entry
  • Manages HR mailbox inquiries
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Maintains human resources information and related records systems in compliance with applicable legislation
  • Assists with the administration process regarding updating employee changes, and copying files required for HRIS administration and payroll processing
  • Responds to employee requests regarding current Canopy policies and procedures and various HR related matters
  • Prepares new employee folders and ensure that all relevant policies and paperwork have been reviewed and completed
  • Assists with the recruiting process, including preparing offer letters, coordinating necessary details for successful candidate’s first day
  • Assists in leading employee orientation
  • Completes the Form I-9 process, verifies I-9 documentation and maintains I-9 files
  • Responding to internal and external HR related inquires and providing assistance
  • Liaise with other departments and functions (payroll, benefits, etc)
  • Maintains accurate, up-to-date, and complete personnel records


Experience


  • Ability to handle data with confidentiality
  • Must be a team player
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, enabling effective collaboration with all levels of the organization
  • Human Resources Management Degree/Diploma (or equivalent education)
  • Experience with HRIS systems and data-entry an asset
  • Highly organized with a strong attention to detail
  • Proficiency in MS office, including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint
  • Ability to handle situations professionally with sensitivity, diplomacy and tact
  • Working knowledge of HR legislation and best practices in the United States
