Job Description
Batteries Plus is looking for an experienced HR Coordinator to provide the link between employer and employee! The right candidate is passionate about recruiting, supporting and evolving employees through our company's guidelines and managing processes. To excel in this role, you must be an excellent communicator with knowledge of recruiting processes and labor regulations.


The HR Coordinator aids with and facilitates the human resource processes. This position resolves employee questions and supports the recruitment function. The HR Coordinator will often be the first point of contact for employees, leaders and candidates. This role provides administrative support to the human resource function as needed, including record-keeping, file maintenance and HRIS entry.

Responsibilities


Employee Relations


  • Triage employee relations intake to resolve minor situations while escalating more complex situations to appropriate HR Business Partner
  • Performs customer service functions by answering employee requests and questions


Recruiting Support


  • Develops and posts job requisitions
  • Schedules intake meetings, candidate interviews, and pre-employment assessments
  • Conducts phone screens with candidates
  • Tracks status of candidates in HRIS and responds with follow-up letters at the end of the recruiting process
  • Leads pre-employment and onboarding process
  • Writes correspondence with candidates including turn down notifications and offer letters
  • Monitors background check results and coordinates review of results
  • Completes Forms I-9, verifies I-9 documentation and maintains I-9 files
  • Assists with recruitment and interview process


Administration


  • Files documents into appropriate employee files
  • Tracks and supports coordination of employee leaves, workers compensation and conducts follow up with employees and leaders as needed
  • Processes employee changes within the HRIS system including hires, promotions, transfers and terminations
  • Assists or prepares correspondence as requested
  • Prepares new-employee files
  • Tracks completion of employee documentation and benefit enrollments
  • Conducts audits of payroll, benefits or other HR programs and recommends corrective action


Qualifications


  • Associate's Degree with coursework in Human Resources
  • 2+ years general HR experience


Preferred Qualifications


  • Knowledge of employment law
  • Bachelor's Degree strongly preferred
  • HR Certification preferred (SHRM or HRCI)
