How is Pivot Tutors different from other tutoring companies?

• We provide paid training for all new tutors during their on-boarding process. We train tutors on how to interactively tutor in a one-on-one setting. We train on high school course curricula, and we hold regular check-in meetings to support all Pivot team members.
• Since we are a premium tutoring service, we attract students who are motivated and actually want to learn.
• All tutoring takes place at our office, so you don’t have to drive to a student’s home or search for a tutoring table at the local coffee shop or library.
• Our administration handles all parent questions and will coordinate the scheduling between your availability and the students’ availability.
• Our number one priority is that our tutors not only are experts in the subjects they teach but also have the ability to connect with their students and enjoy the process of working together.
• We have a relaxed and fun environment for our teachers and students.

Hiring Requirements

• Must have earned a grade of A- or higher in the subject(s) to be tutored.
• Minimum GPA requirement of 3.5 from university or college.
• Bachelors degree is required.
• Must be located in San Diego (for once in-person tutoring resumes).
• Exceptional understanding and enthusiasm for the subject content.
• Available to work 3 or more afternoons and/or evening shifts on Mondays through Sundays, for approximately 9-20 hrs/wk.
• Responsible, dependable, honest, and mature.
• Friendly, patient, and sensitive to a diverse range of students
• Effective interpersonal and communication skills.

Professional Development

Hired tutors will do a rigorous initial training program prior to being scheduled with students. Ongoing training will be expected. All training hours are paid. These training sessions will teach tutors to
