General Summary
Provides first-level contact and issue resolution by responding to reported hardware, software, and application issues; loads and configures computer equipment; logs and tracks calls via the Help Desk database; handles workstation replacements, as well as inventory and equipment distribution management. Coordinates warranty repairs and replacement part acquisition and installation.
Essential Job Responsibilities
  • Confer with staff, users, and management to establish requirements for new systems or modifications.
  • Read technical manuals, confer with users, and conduct computer diagnostics to investigate and resolve problems and to provide technical assistance and support. Troubleshoot software and hardware issues for MEA Users.
  • Install and perform minor repairs to hardware, software, and peripheral equipment, following design or installation specifications.
  • Set up equipment for employee use, performing or ensuring proper configuration and installation of cable, operating systems, and appropriate software.
Miscellaneous Job Responsibilities
  • Maintain record of daily data communication transactions, problems and remedial action taken, and installation activities by using the Help Desk database.
  • Perform other job-related responsibilities and duties as may be assigned from time to time.
Required Qualifications
  • Operational knowledge of Active Directory.
  • Experience using and installing Microsoft Office products.
  • Familiarity with PC set up, configuration, and troubleshooting.
  • Strong verbal/written communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of Internet Explorer.
  • Familiarity with OS systems: Windows 7, XP, and Vista.
  • A+ or Microsoft certifications.
  • Two+ years’ experience with minor laptop repairs such as: memory upgrades, PCMCIA cards, screen, keyboard, and HDD swaps; set-up, management, and support of laptop PC's.
  • Strong diagnostic skills.
  • Working knowledge of LAN and WAN network equipment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Some college with a major in Information Systems or Computer Science.
  • Experience or basic understanding of Network Administration.
  • Other technical certifications.
Travel
  • Travel to Rockmart, GA location periodically.
