Job Summary:
We are looking for a goal orientated team lead to oversee the daily floor production of our locally sourced seasonal menus. In this role, our Culinary Supervisor and our Executive Chef to help expedite daily tasks will support you. Our day shift hours have flexibility based on the needs of the right candidate. This is a new role that you could be the perfect fit for! We have an excellent reputation for our patient food and our cafeterias are award winning.

Responsibilities:
  • Hold start of shift huddles at the beginning of each shift to keep everyone engaged and on the same page.
  • Work the outlined lead routine on the floor and check in with staff periodically throughout the shift and provides support as needed.
  • Assist supervisor in the scheduling of staff.
  • Preparing and cooking food, and know all styles of cooking performed in the kitchen
  • This position works reports directly to the Culinary Services Supervisor and works alongside the Food Service Team. The lead is also expected to cover Associate tasks as directed by need in addition to their areas of responsibility
  • Provide input on staff appraisals throughout the year and provide feedback with staff and Supervisor.
  • Participates in training of new staff members and ongoing educational programs for staff.
  • Perform post shift cleaning inspections in order to insure staff are meeting our expectations of cleanliness.
  • Lead the shift in the absence of the Supervisor and insure that all tasks are complete before they leave for the day.
The ideal candidate will have:
  • Ability to speak, read, and write English highly preferred
  • Ability to communicate effectively among coworkers and leadership.
  • Ability to motivate an array of different personalities and skills. Ability to resolve interpersonal situations.
  • Read and comprehend task instructions then ensure they are followed
  • Servsafe within 6 months of hire
  • Previous supervisory experience in a related role preferred
  • Strong high –volume batch cooking skill. Ability to produce fresh, quality healthy food products safely and in accordance of the Maine Food Code
  • Must understand receiving, production, and service flow
  • Excellent customer service skills!
