We are a dedicated team at the forefront of the Fatality Review and Prevention (FRP) Division, working tirelessly to create a brighter future for Indiana's families. Our mission goes beyond just meeting statutory requirements - we are committed to making a lasting difference in preventing trauma, injury, and death among Indiana's infants, and ensuring better outcomes for pregnant women and their loved ones.
Position Summary
As the Fetal Infant Mortality Review (FIMR) Coordinator, you will play a vital role in supporting our mission. Your focus will be on overseeing and providing technical assistance to all local FIMR teams, fostering collaboration between state-level programs, and facilitating data collection and reporting efforts. Reporting to the Indiana Fetal-Infant Mortality Review Program Manager, you will be part of a passionate team working on statewide FIMR program initiatives.
Your Impactful Duties
Building and nurturing strong relationships with internal colleagues, state agencies, and community organizations to better serve women, birthing persons, and infants.
Creating and maintaining a robust FIMR Network infrastructure for Indiana, connecting with partners at the National Center for Fatality Review and Prevention.
Coordinating FIMR meetings and Community Action Teams in collaboration with other Division staff.
Assisting in data collection system administration for local FIMR teams and contributing to the creation of impactful reports for public dissemination.
Planning and organizing conferences and training events for FIMR teams and stakeholders.
Evaluating best practices for FIMR from other states and seeking opportunities to expand funding and support for Fatality Review and Prevention activities.
Collaborating with other Division programs to develop prevention materials and outreach initiatives.
Requirements For Success
A Bachelor's Degree in a public health-related or similar field, with a preference for health promotion, health communication, health education, social work, or public health. Professional experience or lived experience may be considered.
Proficiency in medical terminology and excellent organizational skills.
Motivated and creative, able to take initiative and multitask effectively.
A team player who can also work independently under pressure and tight deadlines.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare comprehensive reports and presentations for various partners.
