Job Description

JOB SUMMARY

The Health and Safety Manager helps prevent workplace injuries and reduce health risks. In this position, you will travel to worksites to investigate complaints and conduct regular audits, identifying potential risks and ensuring regulatory compliance. Based on these audits, you develop and implement risk reduction strategies. As part of your risk reduction duties, you may promote safety awareness among our employees by leading seminars or distributing informational material on emergency response plans. Applicants for this position should have a bachelor’s degree, BCSP certification, and industry experience.


  • This professional reports to the VP of Operations and won't have direct reports
  • This is a remote position, but we will be looking for professionals that are located close to one of our sites in Dallas - TX, Chicago - IL, or Memphis - MS.
  • Up to 50% of traveling
  • We won't, now or in the future, be offering work visa sponsorship for this position


MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Investigate incidents and accidents to identify what caused them and how they might be prevented
  • Monitors compliance with safety procedures.
  • Demonstrate the correct use of safety equipment
  • Inspects the facility to identify safety, health, and environmental risks. Ensures regulatory compliance.
  • Maintains records of discharge of or employee exposure to hazardous waste and/or pollutants, as required.
  • Stay up to date with regulatory changes and update SOPs as needed
  • Investigate workplace accidents and complaints
  • Draft inspection reports to document inspection findings.
  • Develops and implements inspection policies and procedures, and a schedule of routine inspections.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
  • Evaluate programs on workplace health and safety
  • Educate employers and workers about workplace safety by preparing and providing training programs
  • Ensures that material safety data sheets are maintained and readily accessible when needed.
  • Develops health and safety procedures for all areas of the company.
  • Assist with emergency response plans
  • Prepares and schedules training to cover emergency procedures, workplace safety, and other relevant topics.


YOUR PROFILE

  • Compliance experience in the industry
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Written and verbal communication skills.
  • Five years of related experience preferred in a multi-site Manufacturing industry.
  • Bilingual communication skills a plus (English/Spanish)
  • Familiarity with federal, state, and local regulations
  • Bachelor’s Degree in related areas
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Minimum 30 hour OSHA certification
  • Proficient in technology and equipment used in environmental inspections.
  • CPR/First Aid certification a plus
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
