*Our client, a high growth beverage brand, is looking for a Head of Finance to join their growing team.*
**Must have beverage experience.**
The Head of Finance will ensure that financial and operational transactions, policies, and procedures meet the company’s short and long-term objectives and all regulatory requirements. In conjunction with other members of the leadership team, they will work proactively to grow sales and EBITDA and position the company for success. This individual should demonstrate excellent leadership qualities and have success optimizing financial operations in a resource-lean environment.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead a rigorous and disciplined planning and forecasting process to provide analytical insight and direction to the other members of senior management. Establish metrics and systems that maintain accountability and effectively manage risks.
- Manage our external finance agency, who currently provides FP&A, accounting and tax support and identify opportunities to bring finance functions in house where needed.
- Ensure effective and accurate usage of systems across all functions, upgrading and enhancing reporting tools and processes as needed.
- Partner closely with the sales team, making sure they are equipped with accurate data and analytics to support selling stories and category strategies for key customers.
- Regular meetings with and reporting to leadership and C-suite.
- Manage AR/AP processes.
- Serve as a financial and operational advisor and business partner to the co-founders, executive team, and other members of the leadership team. Provide strategic insight and forward-thinking ideas to grow the company with an emphasis on profitability.
- Present to Board of directors and key stakeholders.
- Ensure that the company maintains an optimal capital structure and minimizes cost of capital while maintaining financial flexibility.
- Ensure that all levels of the company and external constituents are provided with accurate, timely and relevant financial reporting to run the business.
During the first year, the Head of Finance should accomplish the following:
- Establish proper controls and a positive and productive relationship with the leadership team and the board of directors. Communicate proactively and keep them apprised of progress, including any issues that arise.
- Quickly work to understand the business, strategy, and opportunities in the near term. Engage with senior leaders on all aspects of the business to develop and implement the Company Playbook -- with a particular focus on tangible opportunities to drive revenues and minimize costs.
- Evaluate and make recommendations to optimize contracts with company partners and consultants in close collaboration with senior leadership.
- Demonstrate engaged leadership; set a vision for what an efficient, value-add finance function can do for the company, its operations, its customers, and key stakeholders.
- Improve the company’s planning, reporting, operations, and forecasting processes, taking a proactive, forward-looking approach to the function.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Scope and responsibility, ideally with foundational training at a large CPG company followed by a move into a high-growth, challenger brand. Experience in a venture/equity-backed and/or leveraged business is ideal.

Additional qualifications will include, but not be limited to:
- An insightful executive with a strong bias for action; someone who “rolls up his/her sleeves”, commits themselves fully to the business and who is dedicated to developing and delivering outstanding results.
- Thorough understanding of Operations at a CPG company with the ability to connect the dots between all departments to optimize growth.
- Fundraising and transaction experience
- Outstanding analytical, problem solving and presentation skills, with a high degree of intellectual curiosity and the ability to engage the CEO and cross-functional partners in addressing complex business issues.
- Experience leading a high-performing FP&A function with a track record of upgrading and enhancing systems, processes, and reporting.
- Comfortable with high growth and a changing environment
- Experience with executing cost savings and margin improvement; ability to identify, create and evaluate optimal pricing strategies, trade spend programs, etc., to support sales and margin growth.
