Head Of Finance (Fintech)

Our client is on the hunt for their first Finance hire! The perfect candidate will act as a strategic thought partner to the CEO, guiding prudent business decisions and ensuring the achievement of both long and short term financial goals. They're particularly interested in candidates who've filled a finance role at an early-stage startup, with prior experience in investment banking, management consulting, and/or private equity.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage cash flow and expense control as well as our insurance plans
• Focus on system automation and process improvement while keeping an eye on the results
• Work hand in hand with the operations team in defining KPIs and crafting dashboards that provide a holistic view of key operating and financial metrics across our client's operationS
• Support with our client's options plan and financial valuation reports
• You'll be in charge of our accounting and finance operations, which encompasses revenue recognition, handling accounts receivable and payable, and generating financial reports
• Be a key player in our monthly, quarterly, and annual FP&A processes, forecasting and reporting, financial modeling, estimating cash burn rate and runway, and sharing updates, trends, and insights on our financial health with the leadership team
• Collaborate with our third-party accounting firm to ensure accurate monthly and quarterly financials
• Drive ad hoc special projects related to funding initiatives, Board materials, and investor updates
• Create and maintain efficient procedures for financial planning, reporting, and budgeting. This involves working with third-party vendors like Rippling, Quickbooks, Chargebee, etc., to simplify processes.

Essential Qualifications

• Must have had a finance position in an early stage startup before
• Have a solid comprehension of B2C SaaS and fintech landscapes
• Come with a background in investment banking, management consulting, and/or private equity
• Hold a Bachelors degree from a four-year college or university in Finance or a related field
• Bring 5 - 15 years of professional experience in strategic finance, corporate finance, accounting, or financial planning and analysis
