This is an important role focused on creating innovative and scalable processes to support positive impact to our customers. S/he will have operational oversight of the Engineering programs, initiatives, timelines, and overall deliverables for the global engineering organization of 50 employees located in the San Diego, CA, Raleigh, NC, and Helsinki, Finland areas. This role will have 3 engineering leaders reporting to them. The Company enjoys a leading market position for its products and is well positioned to accelerate growth organically. The Company is in the process of developing and testing next generation products which will improve manufacturability, reduce costs, and leverage emerging technologies. These next generation products will significantly increase power density to help achieve these improvements, enabling The Company to seize new markets and industries. Position Description Reporting to the CEO, the Head of Engineering will provide leadership and oversight for the entire engineering organization. S/he will have P&L responsibility, manage the overall engineering lifecycle, lead long, and contribute to overall business strategy and execution of EPC’s goals to meet customer’s needs. This person will work closely with the CEO and CTO on new development and oversee product sustainment initiatives. S/he will also partner and work closely with other key leaders throughout the organization including the VP of Sales, VP of Operations, Head of Customer Success, CFO, and the General Counsel. They will be responsible for the overall prioritization and execution of conflicting priorities both internally and externally with customers. While direct industry knowledge in power electronics, inverters, and/or motor drives is highly preferred, we are exploring candidates that have the technical competence and proven track record in complex systems and/or circuit design to make an effective transition to lead the engineering group at EPC. The Head of Engineering will be responsible for the overall engineering structure that includes keeping costs low/optimized, performance of products continues to improve, a plan to ensure that our supply chain supports the business growth, meet deliverables on time and budget, and meet the schedule/performance/cost target set out for the engineering organization. The successful candidate will be responsible for: Strategy, Planning and Execution


  • Work closely with the CEO & Co-Founder and the CTO on new product development
  • Define long term objectives, strategies, as well as short term objectives for the Engineering organization
  • Oversight of Quality Systems; including ISO CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS Education and Experience
  • Extreme dedication to customer service and quality products

  • Minimum fifteen (15) years of engineering experience in Power Electronics in environments with roll-up-the-sleeves mentality and at least 5 years in leadership position
