The Infrastructure and Cloud Operations team (ICO) is responsible for the design, deployment, and operation of Imperva’s hosted product offerings, including DDoS protection, Content Delivery (CDN), and Web Application Firewall (WAF).

We operate from more than 47 data centers across 37 countries, and we’re working hard to grow that footprint to meet our customers’ demands.

About the role
We are looking for a Manager of Hardware Performance Engineering to drive innovation and scale for the hardware that powers our global CDN and WAF products.The Manager of Hardware Performance Engineering will characterize and quantify the resource demands of our hosted application software and select and evolve suitable server hardware to deploy at our global points-of-presence.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain relationships with current and candidate system manufacturers/integrators
• Guide the development of performance tests and benchmarks for current and future hardware
• Communicate decisions and findings to both technical and non-technical audiences in writing and interactively.
• Manage lifecycle for existing and future server hardware platforms
• Set direction and prioritization for the selection and validation of new server hardware platforms
• Working with our capacity planning team and network strategy/procurement team, balance performance, thermals, power, density, and cost when making selections and recommendations
• Characterize application resource demand and provide guidance to product and SRE teams on performance optimization

Qualifications

• Expert understanding of resource allocation in Unix/Linux systems
• Expert knowledge of and 8+ years of experience with modern server hardware, including an understanding of CPUs, PCIe, and memory and how they interact
