Manufacturing Engineer - Electronics

Headquartered in Monroe, North Carolina since 1957, the ASSA ABLOY Norton Rixson division designs and manufactures door closers, pivots, electrified closers, door operators, and electronic accessories with growing innovations like Wi-Fi programming and setup. This product offering includes brands such as Norton, RIXSON, Sargent, Corbin Russwin, Yale, and Arrow. Norton Rixson is currently seeking an assertive, organized and results-oriented individual to join our team as a Manufacturing Engineer - Electronics. Requirements for the manufacturing engineer position are:

Responsibilities:
  • Provide engineering support in the areas of continuous improvement, and quality adherence.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
  • Assist in the execution of current, updated, and new electro-mechanical product designs to ensure effective product manufacturability and to meet company objectives.
  • Ensure assigned areas have a 5S score that is the model for the plant.
  • Coordinate activities utilizing a Lean process.
  • Works with a certain degree of creativity and latitude to improve technology within assigned areas.
  • Support Management with departmental action plans to achieve the Company’s long-term goals.
  • Maintains high standards of performance, quality, and customer service.
  • Ensure, develop, and maintain efficient product and production flow throughout facility.
  • Develop and direct procedures and methods to ensure quality standards are met and maintained for door closers and electro-mechanical products.
  • Manage day to day project tasks and coordinate with cross-functional team activities.
  • Revise, Update, and Implement cell layouts for optimum efficiency.

Requirements:
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Experience in Lean Manufacturing environments
  • Detail oriented, multi-tasked and a team player
  • Min of 5 years practical experience in a manufacturing environment and in an engineering role.
  • Experience with electro-mechanical controls/technology
  • Experience with JDE a plus
  • Previous project management experience or certification
  • Problem solving, analysis and resolution at a functional level.
  • BS in Mechanical or similar Engineering technical major
  • Experience in supervising teams in a high pace environment
