Overview As the Global Service Center Engineer I - Firewall, you will service new and existing accounts in our data centers and cloud. You will analyze issues that arrive via the ticketing system, telephone, or e-mail and must be able to handle multiple problems at once. As the Engineer I - Firewall, you will work with internal and external persons to ensure customers' needs are met during the support process. The candidate will monitor and maintain systems to ensure the global service team delivers the highest customer service minimizing downtime and providing solutions. Networking and firewall management is the primary function of this position.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide support for firmware upgrades for firewalls
  • Document service and installation actions by completing forms, reports, logs, and records
  • Ensure compliance with internal company and customer policies and requirements
  • Have a consulting mindset (customer-centric prospective)
  • Functional demonstrative knowledge around security as it relates to customers networks, including design and on-going management
  • Work with remote teams and individuals to resolve server and end-user issues on time.
  • Deploy manage, test, upgrade networks, including firewalls, switches, routers etc.
  • Assist in improving and road-mapping our managed services as it relates to networking
  • Participate in rotating "on-call" schedules with other team members
  • Functional demonstrative knowledge of networking principles, including dynamic routing protocols, VLANs, DNS, etc.
  • Assist in the development of standard planning documentation and templates
  • Work closely with delivery managers and other technical departments and direct clients on complex service implementations.
  • Interact and coordinate respectfully with other departments to resolve customer issues
  • Responsible for successful customer and internal on-boarding of new customer, services and/or products to our support and managed service team managers
  • This position requires a high level of direct client communication and follow-through.
  • Assist Cloud Enablement with implementing firewalls within Azure
Requirements:
  • Develop, support, and implement firewall security policies.
  • Troubleshooting skills – common IT Support Issues
  • Site-to-Site VPN & Client to Site VPN troubleshooting
  • Proven experience supporting and delivering IT services
  • Demonstrated ability to own delivery of IT Services, specifically firewall services; new existing support, upgrades, and improvements
  • Performs technical analysis and administration tasks on Firewall appliances
  • Demonstrated skills in delivering direct client communications and internal department communications.

  • Experience with virtualization (Hyper-V or VMWare)
  • Knowledge of enterprise cloud services and concepts (Azure, GCP, AWS)
  • Understanding of PAN
  • Control and URL Filtering, Anti Bot, DLP, Sandblast threat prevention and Endpoint Security
  • Azure – Firewall, Web App Firewall, NSG, ExpressRoute, VPN, vWAN and FrontDoor
  • Understanding of TCP/IP and networking
  • Understanding of Network Security architecture
  • Knowledge of Troubleshooting and debugging procedures
  • Understanding of virtual router redundancy protocol (vrrp) and IP clustering for high availability and Cluster Control Protocol (CCP)
  • Knowledge of automation and use of scripting (PowerShell, Terraform, Python, etc.)
  • Understanding of Check Point GAIA and Secure Platform
  • Eendor firewall knowledge a plus (Cisco/Juniper/Fortinet/Sophos)
  • Experience with Checkpoint Firewalls
  • Knowledge of Check Point Security blades.
  • Experience as a firewall engineering
  • Knowledge of complex networking environments both on-premise and in the Cloud
  • Experience with Check Point VSX and other firewall virtualization and multi-context architecture
  • Demonstrated experience with next-gen features such as Proxy, IPS, URL filtering, DLP, Antivirus policies, Panorama, and SmartControl.
