Job Description

PRIMARY OBJECTIVE

Reporting to the Director of Brand Design, the Graphic Designer II position is responsible for taking a project from concept to completion, while working across a range of projects, from identity design to print collateral to online experiences. The position will follow brand guidelines to design and produce creative print materials. Performs related remote duties as required.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Must be able to provide highly creative concepts within the CCC brand.
  • Continues to learn new methods in print and digital production and cost saving techniques.
  • Maximizes use of InDesign CS6 and learns new software programs when available to continue to increase design performance.
  • Prepares messaging in Flash for use with CISCO systems.
  • Works with college personnel to advise, create and execute strong creative solutions that effectively communicate to the chosen demographic; integrates copy and graphics effectively; and maintains the overall graphic quality of all college visual presentations.
  • Prepares notes and instructions for workers/vendors who assemble and prepare final layouts for printing.
  • Prepares documents using Adobe InDesign CS6 Creative Suite.
  • Designs art and copy layouts for materials, which include but are not limited to, ads, brochures, billboards, posters, banners, fliers, publications, annual reports and other presentations that advance the overall look of the colleges.
  • Adheres to CCC Customer Service Excellence standards.
  • Performs other remote duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Graphic Design or a related field.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Knowledge of Macintosh computer hardware a plus.
  • Ability to work with print houses, suppliers, and other external vendors involved in the production of graphics-related projects.
  • Must have excellent time management skills and able to work on several projects at once with quick turnaround times.
  • Advanced knowledge of CS6 Flash for use on CISCO Systems screens.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of print production techniques and best methods.
  • Must have experience working within a budget and understanding fiscal responsibility when dealing with printed pieces.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and take on extra projects as necessary to equalize the workload of the design team.
  • Knowledge of varying media, print, digital, audio, video, etc.
  • Strong portfolio showing high level design, production and project management skills, and the ability to collaborate with freelance photographers, printers, and various internal clients.
  • At least 7 years of experience using MacIntosh based software such as Adobe CS6 Creative Suite required. Experience with web design a plus.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of current practices, principles, and procedures of graphic design.
  • Ability to work with and relate to a culturally diverse student body and staff
  • Ability to take direction and receive constructive criticism well.
  • Employees working remote are responsible for providing a stable internet environment with a connection speed of at least 300 megabytes per second (Mbps)
  • Ability to take projects from concept to completion.
