Job Description

Metro is seeking a Grants Program Manager to assist in the planning and coordination of federal, state and local grant applications and awards. Responsibilities for this position include grant criteria analysis, data gathering, grant writing, partnership building, grant milestone creation and tracking, financial reporting, monitoring of spending, budget amendments and revisions, and funding drawdowns including tracking the proportionate share of federal, state, and local funding for each project. This position will also be responsible for the management of administrative and other grant writing staff for the department.
JOB DUTIES
  • Assist in the tracking of grant and sub-grant funding, expenditures, outstanding balances and related variances
  • Lead and coordinate grant application coordination across the Southwest Ohio Regional Transit Authority (SORTA) departments and external organizations
  • Oversee the preparation and filing of all required federal and state grant financial and project status reporting as needed
  • Perform other grant duties as assigned
  • Develop spreadsheets, statements of work and other working documents for special projects, as necessary
  • Respond to questions from cost center managers relating to capital plans and grant funding
  • Manage Grant Administration and other grant writing resources within the Department
  • Assist in special financial studies, projects and long range financial forecasting studies
  • Have the ability to work in compliance with Metro's safety and security policies
  • Assist in the development of strategies to meet or exceed organizational and department performance goals and objectives, monitor results, and recognize employee, department and organization accomplishments
  • Assist with grant closings as needed
  • Model, facilitate and encourage exemplary internal and external customer service, open communication, collaboration, participation and professional development among staff
  • Assist in preparation and/or coordination, with other departments, any documentation required in support of the FTA Triennial reviews
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with appropriate personnel at federal, state and local/regional funding agencies
  • Coordinate with accounting to balance the general ledger with subsidiary records as it pertains to grant reporting tools (CPGT)

  • Create and administer grant funding agreements with grantors

Education
  • Bachelor's Degree required, preferably in Business Administration, Public Administration, Economic Development or Planning
Experience
  • Three years experience in grants writing and grants administration is preferred, as is specific experience with government grants and grant regulations.
  • Accounting experience, particularly as it relates to grants, is also a plus
  • Specific experience in transit grants and FTA compliance is a plus.
  • At least 2 years in grant management and leadership in cross departmental and organizations is preferred.

SALARY
  • $64,275 - $85,165 (Salary dependent upon experience)
