Global Trade Finance - Supply Chain Finance - Senior Vice President
Summary of Responsibilities:
The Global Trade Finance – Supply Chain Finance Senior Vice President (“SCF SVP”) will be an integral part of the Global Trade Finance U.S. team based in NY, and will serve as the primary SCF specialist in support of the team’s GTF originators. The SCF SVP is responsible for supporting the originators to identify SCF opportunities with U.S. corporations, structuring and delivering the deals, supporting the GTB USA ESG champion to advance BBVA NY sustainability goals, and generating revenue streams that meet or surpass the budget objectives of the unit.
Main responsibilities:
In coordination with the Origination team, the bankers and the global SCF team, develop new payable finance business opportunities with CIB clients in the U.S. through participations, or lead/arranged deals.
Support the deployment of the BBVA Global Supply Chain Platform in the U.S.
Keep up to date with payable finance market trends, regulation, new product developments, competition, etc.
Develop and maintain a relationship with third party platforms that work with our Clients in the payable finance business.
Promote the GTB ESG framework for SCF program.
Cooperate with other GTF/SCF teams in the BBVA footprint to develop SCF cross border initiatives in support of our global Clients.
Drive strategic discussions with business and support partners (credit risk, legal, compliance, technology, internal controls, operations, etc.) to continuously enhance our payable finance offering, reinforce our policies and procedures, and streamline operations.
Additional Minimum and Preferred Qualifications
Minimum requirements:
Bachelor’s degree.
7 or more years of related experience.
Background in Corporate Banking and Trade Finance.
Fluent in English (both oral and written).
Good written and verbal communication. Excellent presentation skills with Clients and internal partners.
Time management skills and flexibility to operate across multiple functions.
Proactive/self-starter: ability to perform functions in a timely and accurate manner.
Independent contributor who works well in the absence of supervision, but also a team player that coordinates and communicates effectively with the rest of the BBVA team.
Preferred qualifications:
5 or more years of direct experience in SCF/payable finance with Corporate Banking clients.
M.B.A.
Fluent in Spanish (both oral and written).
3 or more years experience in sustainable SCF or similar ESG transaction banking offerings.
With respect to this position in our New York Office, the expected base salary ranges from $150000-$200000. It is not typical for offers to be made at or near the top of the range. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, certifications obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered. In addition to salary and a generous employee benefits package, successful candidates are eligible to receive a discretionary bonus.
