General Summary
The Global Demand Planner will be the owner of the day-to-day activities of Candela’s Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process for APAC, Americas and EMEA regions, including direct customer and distributor demand. The S&OP process is focused on short term and long-term planning and decision-making optimizing customer service levels, operational costs and revenue attainment. The Global Demand Planner will be responsible for building on and improving Candela’s existing S&OP process to create a best-in-class S&OP process collaborating cross-functionally with Commercial, Finance, Supply Planning and Procurement.
The Global Demand Planner is responsible for interfacing with all stakeholders, managing the regional demand forecasting process, performing analysis, and creating materials for update meetings. The Global Demand Planner will coordinate the global S&OP process with the Regional Supply Chain, Commercial, and Service teams with a focus on global forecast consolidation, supply planning support with manufacturing, and inventory management throughout Candela’s global distribution network. This process requires the individual to work with all stakeholders to align production and demand plans at country and regional level and works with supply chain and distribution to ensure inventory is staged correctly to achieve sales goals. Aligning demand within the ability of the supply chain organization to respond and ensuring all stakeholders understand the revenue impact within each sales channel.
This role is structured as an individual contributor, however will require substantial cross functional leadership and program leadership. Strong analytical capabilities and communication/presentation skills are a must as this role will require regular interaction and discussion with senior leadership. The successful candidate will have demonstrated ability to lead cross functionally and able to help navigate sometimes competing priorities.
Essential Job Functions
- Develops and recommends a 24-month rolling demand plan for all regions in $/units which becomes the basis for monthly regional forecast consensus reviews and stakeholder sign off
- Ensure regional achievement of both revenue and inventory goals through successful S&OP process.
- Design, analyze, and present KPI’s to key stakeholders. Help stakeholders develop plans to meet and exceed KPI targets.
- Develop effective forecast models based on historical trends and current pipeline information from the CRM (salesforce.com) platform and new product launch plan.
- Lead process for supply-demand balancing, in-quarter execution, constraints, allocations, and forward-looking projections.
- Provide the long-term strategic approach to supply and demand planning to support business growth.
- Drive monthly/quarterly enhancements to streamline process and improve demand forecast accuracy.
- Documents assumptions underlying the demand plan, reports on key changes and effectively communicates changes in demand with supply chain.
- Participate in business leadership teams and strategic and business planning by contributing an overall supply chain planning perspective.
- Lead the cross-functional monthly S&OP cadence for all regions to gather demand from the business stakeholders.
Knowledge/Educational Requirements
- Capable of influencing and driving decisions through the S&OP process
- Experience with planning, analytical tools Ex: Excel, Word, Power point, Oracle, SFDC and Power BI
- Experience leading a S&OP functional area (supply, demand and/or Finance)
- 5+ years’ experience in Demand, Supply or Sales & Operations Planning
- Leadership presence and the ability to lead a process in a highly matrixed environment
- Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree a plus
- Ability to interface with senior management and effectively represent global/functional positions in a high-pressure environment
- Strong analytical, organizational, decision making skills
- Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills
- Proven ability to build and maintain productive cross-functional relationships excellent communications and interpersonal skills
