This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious individual to take on a leadership role and help build a successful business. The General Manager will have the opportunity to make a significant impact on the company's growth and success and will have the support, resources and incentives needed to achieve their goals. The three primary responsibilities of the General Manager are:


Daily Operations & Team Management: Provide leadership and daily support to direct and indirect reports within the team. This includes training, coaching, and mentoring installers, providing expert technical assistance, and building relationships with customers to ensure their needs are met. Strong ability to manage inventory, while leading high-performing teams, and ensuring all safety guidelines are followed.


Sound Financial Decision Making: As a part of the role, The General Manager will also be influential for budgeting, P&L, and setting KPI's for the team. This includes creating and managing the budget for the team, analyzing the financial performance of the company, and setting key performance indicators to measure the team's success. The General Manager will also be responsible for monitoring the performance of the team against these KPIs, and taking corrective action where necessary to ensure the team is meeting their targets and contributing to the overall success of the company.


Business Development: In addition, the General Manager will also be responsible for business development, identifying new business opportunities, and building relationships with potential clients to increase revenue and grow the company's customer base. The General Manager will also be responsible for networking, building and maintaining relationships with key industry stakeholders and partners, and identifying new business opportunities through networking and industry events.


Required Qualifications:


  • Valid state driver’s license.
  • 2+ years of technical experience in custom glass installation, training and/or servicing on-site in a commercial/construction setting.
  • 4+ years' experience in a lead, supervisory or management role in the custom glass and hardware installation industry.
  • Vocational/Technical degree in aligned area of study, college degree or commensurate industry experience
  • High School Diploma or GED.


Preferred Qualifications:


  • Demonstrated ability to conduct weekly meetings and report on project activity.
  • Prior experience directly managing a team of sales and hourly employees.
  • Experience with a performance management system.
  • Knowledge of project management, resources allocation, installer utilization and cost control.
  • Sales or business development experience.
  • Technical certifications.
  • Possess an understanding of job financial reports and the ability to apply these to cost containment in managing projects.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
  • Experience using glass, metal framework and hardware installation equipment and processes.
  • Be technically adept and have experience with common Microsoft Office, web-based systems, and conferencing/video technology.
  • Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations for Construction Projects.
  • Project Management Certification.


Physical Requirements:
  • Use vision abilities including close, distance, peripheral, depth, and color.
  • Must be able to work a full-time, flexible schedule with “on call availability” and must be able to travel on short notice.
  • Must be able to drive a motor vehicle (day and evenings) for extended time periods
  • Lift, move, and hold up to approximately 50 lbs.
  • Work in unusual and sometimes difficult positions/circumstances such as with ladders, scaffolding, high lift equipment, wires, ducts, crawl spaces, attics, above ceilings, etc.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to:
  • Stand; walk; sit; twist; use hands to handle; reach with hands and arms; push; pull; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk and hear.
