Prosperity Life Insurance Group, LLC is looking for a Manager, General Accounting. This position reports directly to the Director, General Accounting.

Major Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

· Oversee a team of three individuals: two senior accountants and one staff accountant.

· Responsible for reviewing TPA feeds, journals entries and reconciliations.

· Responsible for reviewing Reinsurance calculations and related journals.

· Assist with the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes as well as activities related to the firm’s general ledger, journals and accounts. Will also assist with narrowing the time to close on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.

• Assist with key cash reconciliations for various banks and source of funds.
• Monitor Admin system feeds to Accounting Hub (thick ledger) to ensure completeness and accuracy. Assist IT in the remediation of import and or or job errors.
• Perform daily submissions of accounts payable items including but not limited to policyholder disbursements, commissions and vendor payments in the absence of the AP Manager.
• Liaise between Prosperity Life GL users and our third party service provider for Oracle Cloud.
• Act as a SME on Oracle Cloud. Provide guidance to finance personnel on best practices.
• Assist in the enhancement of controls in the newly implemented general ledger system, Oracle Cloud.

· Contribute to management inquiries, internal and external audits, annual operating budgets and performance projections, and intercompany settlements.

• Assist the Director, General Accounting with ad hoc requests.
• Update and maintain disbursement procedures and controls.
• Carry out duties in compliance with all state and federal regulations and guidelines.
• Support the needs of MAR and Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) control implementation and testing. Provide guidance to the team regarding the development and maintenance of SOP’s.

Supervisory Responsibilities

• This position will over see a team of three direct reports.

Education and/or Experience and Skills

Minimum of 5 years of experience in GAAP and Statutory insurance accounting.

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance and CPA designation preferred.

Experience in maintaining the general ledger of an insurance entity and familiarity with both US GAAP and US Statutory accounting principles.

Ability to manage multiple priorities, in accordance with deadlines, and with a variety of stakeholders.

Effective communication and relationship building skills with both internal and external business partners.

Highly proficient in Excel (Smartview or other Excel reporting experience preferred)

Highly proficient in Microsoft Office tools.
