Job Description
iGov is seeking a Senior Accounting Manager who will support the Controller with the day-to-day activities within the Accounting Department. This position will assist with identifying accounting issues and implement procedures to ensure compliance with financial laws and regulations. The Senior Accounting Manager in collaboration with the Controller will create and implement accountability systems and internal controls that prevent errors and accurate accounting documentation.


Essential Responsibilities


  • Manage the company’s month-end financial closing process, adhering to deadlines mutually established with the CFO/Controller. Lead month-end close; including general ledger adjusting journal entries, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and banking
  • Prepare the initial draft file review of the company’s annual DCAA Incurred Cost Submission (ICS)
  • Ensure that all areas and functions within the accounting department have appropriate back-ups and that the Accounting Manager possesses knowledge and skills to perform functions during periods of planned or unplanned absences of subordinates
  • Cash management to include timely and accurate reporting to floor plan vendor and preparing semi-monthly Borrowing Base Certificate (BBC)
  • Manage the company’s annual financial statement audit, including providing accurate data to auditors and responsiveness to auditor requests during fieldwork
  • Assist with manage incoming workflow; and to be able to work as a team to manage the goals of the accounting department

  • Perform the semi-monthly payroll in Costpoint
  • Assist CFO/Controller in preparing appropriate documentation related to policies, procedures, and internal controls
  • Prepare and analyze monthly financial reports and account reconciliations


Essential Required Experience & Skills:
  • Expert knowledge of accounting and financial principles, regulations, and best practices.
  • Assures effective communications are maintained within areas of responsibility
  • 5+ years of Deltek Costpoint experience is required
  • Must have excellent spreadsheet skills
  • Expected to work closely with other department groups on problems
  • Demonstrate excellent prioritizing skills and the ability to work effectively in a dynamic and busy environment
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ten to Twelve (10-12) years of accounting experience, preferably in a government contracting environment
  • Proficient with data analysis, critical thinking and problem-solving
  • Must be able to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
