Extreme Steel, Inc (ESI) is an integrated service provider of steel fabrication and erection services.Founded in 2000 with locations in Warrenton and Winchester, VA, ESI is a valued strategic partner with longstanding relationships among key general contractors throughout the DC, Maryland, and Virginia region.

Some of our projects include Folgers Library, Air and Space Museum, Reston Metro Station, DAR Hall, and several other high-profile projects.

ESI is experiencing significant growth and is looking to add an Accounting Manager to the existing finance and accounting team. There is an option to work from either Winchester, Warrenton, or Hybrid.

The Role:

A hands-on Accounting Manager with construction accounting experience to support the CFO by supervising two accountants and overseeing the day-to-day financial activities of the Company.The Accounting Manager will perform and manage accounting operations, implement controls, and prepare monthly financial reports.

Responsibilities:

• Establish and enforce proper accounting methods, policies, and principles.
• Monitor and analyze accounting data and produce financial reports or statements.
• Assign projects and direct staff to ensure compliance and accuracy.
• Manage the operations of the accounting department, including month and year-end close process, accounts payable/receivable, cash receipts, general ledger, cash forecasting, fixed assets, job costing, revenue recognition, WIP, & pre-qualifications.
• You can improve systems, processes, and procedures and initiate corrective actions.

Requirements:

• Proven working experience as Accounting Manager, Accounting Supervisor, or Finance Manager
• A willingness to take ownership and accountability, focusing on continuous process improvement.
• Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
• Must be able to perform “hands-on” accounting activities.
• Solid construction accounting, WIP, and job cost accounting knowledge are required, or in a related industry.
• Advanced computer skills in MS Office, Excel, and accounting software and databases
• Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities and produce quality results.
• Dependable, motivated, and highly organized with strong problem-solving skills and effective decision-making abilities
• Excellent communication (both oral and written) and listening skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance and six years of accounting experience (3-5 years in construction or a related industry)
