OVERVIEW
The Game Designer role is focused on developing the gameplay and flow of all TEG experiences including digital products, board games, and live action escape games. The game designer is responsible for generating and developing puzzle / gameplay ideas and creating associated documentation. This role’s focus is to constantly create ideas with considerations for project initiatives, player experience, and TEG quality standards.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Document & communicate story, scenic, layout and other game details.
  • Documentation and statistics of puzzle testing and demo games.
  • Conduct game and immersive design research.
  • Compile industry and TEG statistics for presentations.
  • Research and present trends in escape rooms.
  • Quality control components throughout the design & build process.
  • Prototype puzzles & lead playtests and full game demos.
  • Lead brainstorming sessions & document results.
  • Coordinate puzzle information with CAD and Graphic Designers and Web Developers.
  • Present game concepts to stakeholders.
  • Generate puzzle / task ideas and create associated documentation.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS
  • At least 2 years of designing puzzles.
  • Basic Google Suite knowledge.
  • Basic Microsoft office suite knowledge.
  • At least 2 years of game design (digital, puzzle or escape game).
  • A very high attention to detail.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.

PREFERRED SKILLS
  • Arduino or PLC Programming.
  • Adobe Illustrator & Photoshop
  • At least 1 year of project management experience.
  • Sketchup Drafting.
  • Basic fabrication skills (wood, metal, acrylic, etc.).

EXPECTED AVERAGE WEEKLY HOURS: Average of 45 hours per week with a 40-hour minimum
TRAVEL EXPECTATIONS: Minimal
EXPECTED SCHEDULE: Monday – Friday (Exceptions: New store or game installation, emergency situations related to the role)
