Position: Full-Time Lecturer, School Psychology
Effective Date: August 17, 2023 (Fall Semester)
Salary Range: $5,405 -$11,994/per month (Commensurate with qualifications and experience)

Department of Advanced Studies in Education and Counseling (ASEC)

Required Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated commitment to working successfully with a diverse student population
  • Demonstrated experience as a school psychologist including conducting psychoeducational assessment, consultation, counseling and/or behavior analysis
  • Demonstrated commitment to preparing school psychologists in a manner consistent with the National Association of School Psychologist (NASP) domains for training and practice
  • M.S., M.A. or Ed.S. in School Psychology or related discipline
  • California Pupil Personnel Services School Psychology credential by August 1, 2023
  • Demonstrated potential for teaching excellence at the college level

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) and/or NASP PREPaRE Trainer
  • Ph.D., Psy.D., or Ed.D. in School Psychology or related discipline
  • Demonstrated experience working with populations demographically and socioeconomically similar to the CSULB student body
  • Experience with fieldwork supervision
  • Demonstrated experience supervising and training graduate students in a clinical setting
  • Demonstrated excellence in teaching at the college level
  • Demonstrated experience with program accreditation and/or admissions
  • Experience coordinating or directing a program or other administrative duties

Duties:

Teach core courses may include, but are not limited to: Introductions to Statistics, Psychoeducational Assessment, Counseling, Consultation, School Crisis Planning, Behavioral Assessments and Interventions, Academic Assessments and Interventions, Fieldwork Supervision.

  • Engage in program-related service activities such as reading comprehensive exams, student advising, thesis committees, program meetings, accreditation and assisting with selecting applicants to the program
  • May coordinate program or fieldwork
  • Maintain a campus in-office work schedule aligned with department workload (following CSULB repopulation guidelines)
  • Teach core courses in the Education Specialist in School Psychology program. [Mode of instruction may include in-person, hybrid, online and/or any combination thereof.]
