Responsibilities


This position coordinates a longitudinal study of eating disorders. Responsibilities include oversight of participant progress through the study, ensuring consistency between paper and on-line surveys, oversight of data entry, oversight of research materials and supplies, and participating in diagnostic interviewing. The position involves supervising undergraduate research assistants and coordinating schedules of graduate research assistants.

Oversight of research participant recruitment and retention, including efforts to locate and contact participants and participant responses. Reviews timing and efficacy of recruitment techniques. Tracks success of meeting recruitment and retention goals. Ensures accuracy of all records of participation, and assists the Principal Investigator in updating recruitment milestone reports to the NIH.

Oversees laboratory-related tasks including interviewing new undergraduate research assistants, data entry and analysis, ordering supplies, updating reference databases, assisting with project progress reports, updating IRB protocols, and scheduling lab meetings. May do some photocopying, faxing and mailing.

Responsible for diagnostic interviewing of research participants, including interview of Axis I disorders and eating disorders. Oversees graduate research assistants interview schedules. Responsible for completion of inter-rater reliability evaluations.

Qualifications


High school diploma/equivalent two years of experience in a research lab setting. (Note: post-high school education may substitute for experience at the equivalent rate).

  • Experience in collecting and analyzing data and preparing reports.
  • Experience in a research lab with collecting, entering, and summarizing data.
  • Ability to organize and maintain accurate research files.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with Qualtrics, SPSS, and Microsoft Office Outlook, Word, Excel, and Powerpoint.
  • Coursework in Psychology or a related health field.
  • Interest in eating disorders research.

Considerations


This is an USPS (University Support Personnel System) position.

This position requires successful completion of a criminal history background check.

While the primary working hours for this position are Monday - Friday from 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., the incumbent may be required to work a flexible schedule, including nights and on weekends based on the studies being run and the availability of the participants.
