Sante Health System in Fresno, CA is seeking to fill the position of Front & Back Office at one of our busy medical offices, Hongshik Han MD Inc. This position is responsible for supporting and monitoring patient flow in the front and back office while delivering primary health care and patient care management. This position will also assist with billing duties.

- High school diploma/GED equivalent required
- Experience with electronic health records and scheduling preferred
- Minimum 1 year work experience, preferably in a medical office setting
- Complete disability forms.
- Ensure the front office and lobby are kept in an orderly manner.
- Answer phones and redirect to the appropriate staff.
- Autoclave instruments.
- Assist with checking in, confirming, and scheduling future appointments.
- Assist with assembling and mailing new patient packets.
- Assist Carolyn with billing duties.
- Prepare charts for the following day.
- Assist with putting patients in rooms and clean rooms after being used.
- Stock rooms and cart with necessary medical equipment.
- Collect and distribute all incoming faxes, including referrals.
- Turn on all computer/monitors upon arrival.
- End of the day - Prepare and spray down rooms for next day's patients and turn off all computer/monitors.
- Call patients to confirm upcoming appointments.
- Greet patients as they walk in.
- Fill in for vacation/sick employees.
- Update patient information - address, phone number, etc.
- Scan insurance information, photo ID cards and patient packet, etc.
- Update patient health history and medication information in EMR system.
- Turn phones over for exchange.
- Collect co-pays and take payments.
- Attend required meetings and participates in committees as requested.
- Run eligibility.
- Maintain patient confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Unlock front door in morning.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, employees, and the public.
- Knowledge of grammar, spelling, and punctuation to type patient information.
- Skill in operating a computer and photocopy machine.
- Skill in greeting patients and answering the telephone in a pleasant and helpful manner.
- Ability to read, understand and follow oral and written instructions.
- Knowledge of business office procedures.
- Knowledge of managed care products such as HMO's and PPO's.
- Ability to sort and file materials correctly and in alphabetical or numeric systems.
- Ability to speak clearly and concisely.
