POSITION: Freelance SEO Copywriter

REPORTS TO: Brand Marketing Director

LOCATION: (remote) Los Angeles, CA

SCHEDULE: Minimum 2 hours a week, 1 blog post a week

THE OPPORTUNITY: COPYWRITER

Birdy Grey is looking for a Freelance SEO Copywriter to join our team of creatives who are constantly seeking ways to reach our customers more effectively and impactfully. You will report into the Brand Marketing Director and will partner with the Brand and Digital Marketing teams to write 10-15 blog articles that are on-brand and SEO-friendly.

SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide expertise to all marketing, brand, and business partners to ensure that messaging meets project and business objectives.
• Vary language and tone of messages based on the topic and target audience.
• Draft 1-2 blog posts per week, following SEO guidelines provided by the SEO Manager.
• Write long-form blog content that reflects the brand’s personality, voice, and positioning—whether that’s a wedding planning blog post or a bachelorette city guide.

THE RIGHT CANDIDATE: QUALIFICATIONS & PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES

EDUCATION: Associate’s Degree or Bachelor’s Degree required

EXPERIENCE / REQUIREMENTS

• Deep understanding of customers' needs, the “why” of a product, and the competitive landscape.
• Strong ability to multitask, hyper organized, and can work efficiently without sacrificing attention to detail.
• Up-to-date knowledge of retail, marketing, and fashion editorial trends.
• Professional level of computer competency, proficiency with Word, Google Suite, experience with database tools, and knowledge of Internet technology.
• Passion for copywriting, language, user experience, creative direction, and storytelling.
• Minimum 3+ years of SEO copywriting experience in fashion, bridal, ecommerce, retail, or advertising.
• Proficient in long-form copywriting (must have writing clips).
• Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills with a diligent eye for detail, language, flow, and grammar.

• Start-up and DTC experience are a plus!
• Passionate about the bridal industry and fashion.
