Job Title: Forging Manager

Classification: Exempt

Department: Forging/EP

Reports to: Manufacturing Manager

Purpose:

Responsible for managing workplace, work flow, manpower usage, scrap reduction, cost improvements, Kaizen events, and product quality by maintaining TS16949 quality systems.

General Duties:

• Develops and implements training, monitors training and skill development of engineers and operators.
• Performs other duties as required.
• Manage the development and implementation plans for continuous overall equipment effectiveness (OEE); improve yields, uptime and cycle times of equipment, improve product flow, and cost reduction
• Develops, implements, and maintains quality systems.
• Ensures all company polices are enforced.
• Participates in launch planning and implementation of new products.
• Evaluates new and existing process equipment for improved process performance.
• Assigns responsibility for control plans, Standard Operating Procedures, Work Instructions, and continuous improvement projects.
• Develops and implement monthly production plan with production, productivity, manpower, overtime, budget, and quality targets.
• Responsible for maintaining TS16949 quality systems.

Skills:

• Observes all safety rules.
• Responsible for Kaizen and 5S.
• Requires working in temperature extremes.
• Self- starter, multi-tasked and detailed oriented, excellent computer and math skills.
• Responsible for enforcing Company policies.

Requirements:

• BS, mechanical/industrial or related degree. 5-7 years of experience in forging manufacturing.
• Skilled in forging process, all secondary processes, and quality requirements of the automotive markets.
• Strong interpersonal skills with team leader, coaching and mentoring ability.
